Client Profile: Interface And Control Systems, Inc. We are pleased to feature Interface and Control Systems, Inc., in this issue. ICS, a software engineering company, specializes in the implementation of real-time autonomous command and control systems. ICS customizes the Spacecraft Command Language (SCL) core product to meet specific customer needs. Core businesses include engineering services and product development. Customers include the Naval Research Laboratory, the Applied Physics Laboratory, the Johns Hopkins University and Lockheed Martin. ICS was founded July 14, 1988 and recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. Entry into two major application areas satellite ground systems and test support systems for spacecraft implementation drove ICS into an explosive growth last year. Two business units service the company's customers. The Engineering Services unit supports system design, custom software development, system integration and test. The Product Development unit is responsible for the evolution of ICS's cornerstone Spacecraft Command LanguageÖ (SCL) system, and product research and development. In July 1997, ICS entered into a strategic alliance with Lockheed Martin Mission Systems in Gaithersburg, Maryland. A joint development effort to deliver an integrated satellite control system to Space Systems Loral for multiple commercial programs marks the first major milestone for he alliance. ICS was an integral contributor to the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer(FUSE) engineering team for flight and ground systems. ICS delivered the integrated mission operations control center for the mission managed by the Johns Hopkins University. Once again, as in prior years, our firm received are port indicating that we maintain the highest quality of work in all aspects of accounting and auditing services. Catherine and Sally are account supervisors in the accounting and auditing department. Brenda L.L. Cummings, CPA recently passed the exam to become a Certified Public Accountant. CONGRATULATIONS!! Larry P. Bormel was re-elected to serve as President of the Baltimore/Washington Corridor Chamber Foundation. Brenda L.L. Cummings has been re-elected to the position of Treasurer of the Catonsville/Patuxent Business and Professional Women's Organization. Barbara Busey, CPA has joined and is actively involved in the Rotary Club of Laurel. She has been board appointed to the position of Treasurer. Kevin Berman, a sophomore at the University of Michigan spent part of his summer as an intern atBormel, Grice & Associates. He became actively involved in many areas ranging from the audit of a local business to preparation of an individual tax return. We want to thank Kevin for all his efforts and wish him much success in the future. Katherine A. Grice was involved in a car accident in May and is recovering steadily.
